Let Your Light Shine
This project entitled “Let Your Light Shine” is part of a series that I decided to make for my son and nephews this year. For each of their birthdays this year, I opted to make them each their own surreal photograph, depicting some form of message that I hoped to convey to them that they could take with them in their life. If you would like to see the other photographs (or at least the ones that are completed), please check out the links below.
This particular photo was taken for my nephew who will turn 3 the day after Halloween this year (November 1, 2020). So to commemorate the year, I opted for a foggy, Fall type of feel equipped with it’s very own, custom made jack-o-lantern. There is no need for a light inside of this particular pumpkin, because the love and joy of my nephew’s innocent and sweet spirit is light enough to shine bright into the darkened world around. This project is based on the Bible verse which reads:
“In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
The wide smile on the face of the jack-o-lantern conveys the wondrous smile always worn by my nephew. This was a project that was a labor of love.
All photo compositing was handled inside of Adobe Photoshop. All final color adjustments were completed in Adobe Lightroom.
